35-3 Crystal High Speed Control

Chosen worldwide by cinematographers and camera rental companies for its ease of use and wide speed range, the Cinematography Electronics CRYSTAL HIGH SPEED CONTROL is the professional choice for your Arri 35-3 camera. 35-3 Crystal High Speed Control

Because of its many features, over a thousand Cinematography Electronics CRYSTAL HIGH SPEED CONTROLS go to work each day supporting the Arri 35-3 camera. Among these impressive features are a broad crystal speed range of 1 through 130 frames per second (fps) and speed selections in one frame increments.

Crystal speed selections are easily accomplished with push button digit switches that are protected by a sliding door. Additional crystal speeds of 23.976 fps and 29.970 fps for filming NTSC video monitors are built into the speed base. (A 50 Hertz version is available with speeds of 16.666 fps and 33.333 fps in place of the NTSC television speeds.)

Another feature of the CRYSTAL HIGH SPEED CONTROL is the phase shift push button. This button is active in all crystal speeds and is used (while the camera is running) to slightly shift the camera filming speed for proper phasing to monitors, projectors or HMI lights.

Non-crystal speeds are continuously and smoothly adjustable with the variable speed edge control knob over a speed range of 3 through 130 fps. For creative filming, the speed base drives the camera forward or reverse at all speeds.

A single 12 volt battery is required for filming speeds below 50 fps, and two 12 volt batteries are needed above 50 fps. Two battery indicator LEDs show the voltage condition of the batteries at all times.

Located at the rear of the CRYSTAL HIGH SPEED CONTROL are two bright red digital displays. The tachometer display shows the running speed of the camera, or a preview of the selected speed when the camera is off. The footage/meter counter, with a reset push button and a four hour memory backup, displays the total film count.

The CRYSTAL HIGH SPEED CONTROL comes complete with two built-in right angle cables that interface between the camera and speed base. For interfacing with other devices, the speed base provides two Fischer 11 pin accessory connectors.

These connectors are compatible with accessories such as the Syncromark Laser System or the Remote Tach & Counter. To maximize your accessory options, we suggest the Cinematography Electronics Accessory Block as the perfect complement to your CRYSTAL HIGH SPEED CONTROL. Also available is an optional Follow Focus Bracket.

From its impressive list of features to its thoughtful design and execution, the CRYSTAL HIGH SPEED CONTROL was created to unlock the full potential of your Arri 35-3 camera.
